I'm Ba-ack lol

So sorry it took me a while to find my way back, but due to sickness, graduations, vacation et al. I just didn't have the energy to work. BUT I'm back now and raring to go!!  I'm hoping to put up some of the things I've been doing in picture form over the up coming weeks, as well as some tutorials I've been working on.  I am struggling with the tutorials as I've never done one, but with help, I'm working on it lol  Once I get it up, I would welcome any and all comments.

I'm looking forward to chatting with you and showing you what I've been up to lately.  I'll also be working on getting the blog more user friendly as I was told recently it wasn't.

Thank you for looking out for me!

It's finally raining!!! It has rained a little over the last couple weeks, but not like this. It's been raining overnight and now into the morning and it's soaked the ground. My garden really needed this!!

I have finished a couple things in my sewing. I got a bag done, my curtains are almost done, finally (now I just have to get hubby to put up the rod! lol) I did 15 notebook covers for teachers and such, I will take pics but there aren't many left. I think I have 5 left. lol I am in the midst of a hoard of material that has things slated for it. I bought some really interesting bag material and it will be going up on my site soon. I just have to talk the kids into cooperating with me so I can sew some more.

I have been trying to decide if it's worth buying a snap press. I am starting to make some different things that I've only customed before and if I'm going to start selling them, then I really need to get one. I've made some mamma cloths and diapers for friends and they've been wanting more, so I'm sourcing the pricing etc before deciding. If anyone has a good place to buy one, then post it please!!

hmmm, what else.....
Oh yeah, we are going to be looking into taking the whole crew down to the States next summer. Wish us luck lol I don't know whether I'll be able to handle all the grumpies for 10+ days but will look into it. Maybe we'll go one place and send the older ones somewhere else....lol

It's hard to believe it's been almost a month since I last blogged. I've been BUSY!! Ron and I finally were able to get away by ourselves! We went from May 4-11 to Los Angeles!! We had taken the two younger kids there last year and we felt that we missed a bunch of stuff because the kids were there. However, even without the kids, we didn't get to see all we wanted to see....so another trip is in order!! hehe

I went to the LA Fashion District. All I can say is WOWOWOWOW If you ever get a chance to go there, you have to go!! I have to go back and spend a couple days there, but first, I have to save up for it! I could easily have spent over $5-6000 there. I ended up spending just over my budget of $100 but I made some business contacts for zippers, cottons, etc so I figure I did good. Ron wasn't so sure LOL It was all his fault anyways. Just when I thought I'd found what I wanted, he'd holler from another corner and say over here!! We only went to 2 streets and didn't get nearly a quarter done. It's HUGE!! We don't have anything like that here in Edmonton, but I could sure love to have it. I hope that I will be able to find one of these close to here. I can't keep visiting LA for it, but oh would I love to!! It's so much warmer there.

First it was the dog being sick ($268 later he's on 2 different meds and has to go back next week) then the car today had a flat tire which ended up having to get 2 tires so that they are even. another $245. I wish I had a money tree. would make things so much easier wouldn't it.

I have the sewing bug now that I've played with all those lovely fabrics and such. I haven't been able to sew since I got back though. I have some ideas for new purses and bags. I had an epiphany about the camera bags for inserting into your carry on while trying to get through security and customs with Ron's and my two cameras and all the paraphenalia that comes along with them. I'm hoping to have another lens before too long so that would add to it as well. Once I get things figured out, it will be in my shop, that is once I get that up and running as well. lol

Well, gotta get down to sewing and such. Will try and update sooner next time.

We went to Great Grandma P's 90th birthday party in Toronto over the weekend and Joey was the hit of the party lol Gran was telling all her little old people friends that her Joey was coming to visit. He behaved very well all weekend and we were so proud of the way he behaved at the party itself. He had a few autistic meltdowns but overall, was really good.

We took him to the Toronto Zoo and had to borrow a wheelchair cuz his legs were bothering him. He stayed put most of the time, but went and visited the animals. He took some pics with the disposable camera we picked up for him . He did pretty good!! Most of the pics were centred too which was very interesting. We didn't make it to all the pavilions, but most of em. We ended up walking over 5 miles!! Yah me!! lol I wasn't even all that tired when we were done, but my legs were sore the next day as I don't have hills here to climb like Toronto. I'll have to figure out how to do that one.
